Old Photos from Bilston

This is from about 1956, yours truly on the left depicting the outlaw Jesse James and my neighbour and best friend, Martin Broomer with the fancy cowboy outfit. The photo was taken by Mr. Lang, the owner of the greengrocers in Central Avenue, Bilston. I remember the fence being there as the council had just grass seeded the area.

This is a photo of Stonefield boys secondary modern choir, taken in about 1965. I was in the second year and on the front row. I am having difficulty naming all those in the photo, if anyone can add a name, I would be grateful.

HERE is the list, please have a look.

NEW!! Stonefield School, Bilston Forum NEW!!

Happy days, I think I was about 11 when this photo was taken in my back garden in Bilston. I'm wearing my Villiers cap and by the looks of it, the oldest dirtiest clothes I could find!

I well remember that fishing rod and reel, a 5' solid fiberglass rod with a plastic handle and a horrible little tin plate rachetty reel, appears to have worked though!

The fish is a small Jack Pike, so I don't think it was caught over the old golf course opposite the house, more likely from one of the pools down Great Bridge road. They've been filled in now and houses built over the site. My dad was a member of John Thompsons angling club and they had fishing rights at the pool on the right hand side of the road just after the canal bridge.
